Cherokee Tribe Specifics Needed

I would like to know if anyone out there knows my biological dad Willard Hix. He died in Port Angeles, WA in 1989 and is survived by his son Ronald Hix in Port Angeles , WA. I am in contact with Ronald but the problem we are having is knowing what Cherokee Tribe he is from. Willard was a Sheriff at Clallam Co. in Port Angeles, WA. He loved the ladies or I would not be here even though married. He like to call himself 'TEX' as he was from Texas and Ronald was born in Oklahoma. Please feel free to email me at pablo2u2@msn.com.
