CLIFTON Gage August was born 26 Aug 1905, the first of 4 children (only son) of William George 'Will' August (1882-1953) & Hermione Aletta 'Minnie' Heathcote (1889-1963).
Minnie was born in Natal, South Africa to Gage Charles Edward Heathcote & Hermina Aletta Fourie Van Wych.
Will was born in Lower Hutt to John Samuel August & Lily Edna Clark.
Will & Minnie married 25 Jan 1905 in St Marks, Wakkerstroom, South Africa. The following month they were passengers on the 'Athenic' from Capetown, into Wellington. They settled in Wellington/Lower Hutt and had 2 daughters. They moved to Auckland where William was a Piano Tuner & had their last daughter Betty.

1907 - 2003 Iris Winifred August . Iris married Roy Hamilton Berntsen (1903-1989) in 1928 . She died 9 Feb 2002. They are buried Manukau cemetery, Auckland
1909 - 1995 Doris Murley August . Doris married James Yates Grieve (1900-1976) in 1927 . She died 20 Feb 1995. They are buried Waikumete cemetery, Auckland
1919 - 2017 Betty Elaine Heathcote August . Betty married Edward Henry Neighbour (1889-1977) in 1941 . She died 25 May 2017. She was cremated Manukau, her ashes may have been scattered at Purewa as Edward's were.
Sorry, I have Betty marrying the wrong Edward Henry Neighbour (1889-1977). She had married his son Edward Henry Neighbour (1920-2002) in 1941. They are at Manukau Memorial Gardens
