Connection Between Mary Scott and an Uncle at Chinton Station Kilmore Mary Adeline Scott Born 1834 IN Cork Ireland and Came to Australia as an Orphan ...

On arrival Mary Scott worked for three months in Port Phillip and then moved to Deep Creek, Kilmore to be with an uncle. This uncle was supposedly a doctor?? Question - A family member past this information onto myself and I would like to have a copy of the document that proves this information. Can anyone tell me where I could purchase this document/information on the Irish orphans. I know that Mary Scott married James Knapsey in 1852 at Kilmore and had her first child Caroline at Chintin Station in 1852. On two documents Mary's former name is listed as Cavagnah rather than Scott but on most documents her former name is listed as Scott. Her parents names are not mentioned on the ship Eliza Caroline documents online. I did note on another journal that the owners of Chintin Station have some relatives with the name Scott.

Hi,
Just came across this site when I put in a search for Mary Adeline Scott. Mary was my great great grandmother.
From the limited information I have on her, I believe on arriving in Australia she worked for James McLaren in Elizabeth St for 7 pounds for 3 months. Do not know what type of work she was doing. She then moved to Deep Creek near Kilmore to be with her Uncle. I believe her Uncle was a doctor?
My great grandmother was Esther Knapsey. She married Christian Hansen.
I would be interested to know what information you have on the Knapsey family.
I hope to hear from you.

Cheers
