Constance May King 1884

Journal by JudS

My quest is for information and background for my husbands mothers family I have some back ground but then hit a few brick walls
I am looking for information on CONSTANCE MAY KING, born 1884
Constance's father was HENRY BLANCHARD KING born in England and her mother ELIZABETH ANN HOSFIELD was born at Dubbo Australia.
Constance May King was the oldest of 6 siblings? I know two brothers died in the first world war and one brother George died in 1952.
Constance married JOSEPH JOHN TRACY 1915 who died at 40yrs old. CONSTANCE then married JOSEPH LOMAX.

Constance family

John Bonfoy Rooper (8 August 1778 – March 1855) was a British Member of Parliament.

He was born the eldest son of John Rooper of Berkhampstead Castle, Hertfordshire and Abbots Ripton Hall, Huntingdonshire and educated at Rugby School (1790), St. John’s College, Cambridge (1797) and Lincoln's Inn (1800). He succeeded his father in 1826.

In his youth he travelled to America and became a staunch Liberal. While he was there the family lost possession of Berkhampstead Castle and retreated to Abbots Ripton. In 1831 he was elected MP for Huntingdonshire, sitting until he was defeated in 1837. he was appointed High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire for 1845–46.

He died in 1855. He had married Harriet, the daughter and heiress of William Pott of Portman Square, Middlesex, with whom he had 5 sons and 11 daughters. He was succeeded in turn by his sons Bonfoy Rooper (1827–69) and the Rev. Plummer Pott Rooper (1828–81), rector of Abbots Ripton.

Thank you, Thank you so so much. Had some information but wasn't getting much further.
Had found that Samuel King was a vicar but still have to find his other children.
Constance May King is my husbands grandmother and has been a bit of a mystery up till now.
Interesting how the Rooper was used in George Kings second name. The last child of Henry Blanchard King carried the name Leslie Birchem Roland Noel King. Wonder what that was all about !!!
Once again thank you.
