Cotter of Cork Ireland
My grandfather was Thomas COTTER born 1898 and died in Flanders, France in the Second World War. He was married to a Mary Ann BUTCHER in 1907 in West Ham, London. His father was called William COTTER and mother I understand was Mary HOARE but I cannot find that they got married.
William COTTER lived in Ireland around 1844ish and Mary was born in Cork, Ireland on 24 Sept 1848.
My mother was Rose Esther COTTER born 1912 and she was the daughter of Thomas COTTER and Mary BUTCHER.
If anyone can help with the COTTER family I look forward to hearing from you.

I really can't help apart from his military record.
Private Thomas Cotter served with the King's Liverpool Regiment, 12th Battalion. Killed at Flanders on the 30 November 1917. His registration number is 86040 The British and Irish Military Databases, give only basic information which you probably already have. However perhaps The liverpool Regiment hold copies of attestation papers and other records.
Otherwise gather the usual certificates.
I've seen the tree of Patrick Hoare b:1824 and Catherine Aherne b:1837 married in Ireland in 1885.
These are their children, all born at Kilderrig County Cork.
Matthew Hoare 1856 –
Johanna Hoare 11 March 1858 d: 1873 at Kilderrig
James Hoare 1859 – 1928 migrated to Australia m. Annie DOWNING in 1882
Mary Hoare b: 18 Nov. 1860 m. MURRAY ?
Catherine Hoare 1863 – 1942 m. Edmund KENNIFICK in 1890 Ireland

The above tree declares it was Elizabeth who married COTTER, However I have seen no document to support either. The other marriages in this family are confirmed.
