My name is Bernie Parsons, and I am doing research on the surnames attached to my wife's side of the family. Her grandparental lines are CRAYCRAFT, HORSLEY, MCCARTY, ISON.

They are from the Greenup County area, with the CRAYCRAFT family concentrated in an area called East Tygart, or the East Side of Tygart's Creek. The MCCARTY family is from Smith Branch, Greenup County, Kentucky.

I have pretty decent information going back to her great-grandparents, but am hitting some roadblocks on some of the folks in her ancestral lines.

If you have good, reliable information on this family, I would love to see it. In the meantime, if you desire information about the family members with which I am familiar, please let me know.

Hello, I have a Horsley surname that I am also researching. Her name was Nettie Horsley. She married a William Jarvis and was born on the Cherokee Strip, Oklahoma, 1862?, died 1950? or so. Her parents were from Arkansas/pennsylvania. If you have any link to this, l would appreciate sharing.

Cecelia, I am not sure if these folks have a connection to wife's family.

On Find-A-Grave, someone has said that Nettie Horsley is the daughter of Joshua Theodore Horsley from Coles County, Illinois. Her mother is said to be Sophie E Fralich and that the two married in Kansas.

It shows the parents of Joshua Theodore Horsley to be the son of Berry Leftridge Horsley, said to be from Kentucky, and Sarah N Van Fleet. It does not say what part of Kentucky Berry Leftridge Horsley was from, or who his parents were. I hope that this helps.
