Creeks Family New Zealand
This is the start of a personal search to track down some family history, to find some facts and to maybe discover relatives that before now were not known to exist.
I only recently in the last few months discovered my Great Grandfather's name and also my Great Grandmother's name.
My name is Colin Michael Creeks. My Siblings are Carol Anne Creeks, Robyn Creeks and James Creeks
My Fathers name was Allan Napier Eunson Creeks. His one sibling was Colin Elliot Creeks
My Grandfather's name was Charles Napier Creeks he was married to Christina Kate Creeks(Nee: Drever).
My Great Grandfather's name was Thomas Elliot Creeks ands he was married to Emma Anne Creeks (Nee: Norris)
I am currently as far as I know the Oldest Surviving Male in this line.
I hope to fill in the family tree beyond my great grandfather.
I remember growing up, of stories told by my Grandfather and Uncle to do with one of our ancestors being on the Flagship with Admiral Nelson when he was killed.
Also rumours of either my Great Grandfather or Great Great grandfather being a remittance man. Seems unlikely if Thomas Elliot Creeks was actually born in Tasmania.
I know that my Father and Grand Father spent time at Somerset house in London trying to track down family history and connections to the past. Apparently they had no success.
I find it a bit amusing as they never talked about my grandfather's family at all and I think they spent time chasing the Admiral Nelson rumour and also a family rumour that one of the Great Grandsires was the Bastard Son of one of the Gentry, hence being a remittance man. I think Pop (my grandfather) and Dad had delusions of Gentry.
It would be interesting to follow it back and find out some concrete evidence.
However if the Line for our point of view starts in Tasmania so be it I would love to find out more about that. Did old Thomas Elliot Creeks have brothers, sisters and he must have had parents. If so who were they and are there surviving relatives.
