Curious About My Surname

My name is Rachel and I'm 29 years old. Originally from Georgia but recently moved to Houston from a change of pace. I have longed to know the history behind my last name. I am black and besides my father and his children, we are the only Greggs (black Greggs) I know. I haven't a clue when to start and asking for the aid of the world to know the story behind my name. Questions,comments and curiosity are welcomed.

Thanks! No my father was born in Darien, Connecticut and my mother's surname was Moseley. She was born in Jesup, GA. And I do. My father's side is very small and he is the only surviving child from my grandmother. Her name is Jacqueline Paulk. My grandmother is from Baxley, GA.
