Dead End Can T Find Parents of Gilroy and Colemoss

My great grandfather was a Scot, born in Dundee 1835. I have just discovered that his parents almost definitely were Robert Gilroy and Elizabeth Smith married in Dundee 22 Dec 1834. g-grandfather was also Robert.

Robert married the daughter of James Colemoss and Mary Moorfoot. Her name was Elizabeth she was 14 when married St Pat's cathedral Auckland NZ.11 June 1869.

Now I have considerable info on the Moorfoot side - they were farmers in South Yorkshire - but James Colemoss is a complete dead end. He was born in Heanor Derbyshire 5 April 1806 (died as a result of a fight with his son-in-law 29 April 1865.

None of this is American but I hope someone can help me.
