Thank you for taking the time to comment. Unfortunately the birth year does not match - definitely 1908 - he would have been 40/41 but the uk departure time is about right. I believe though he was practiced at deception so he could have reported he was younger than he actually was. He told my Mum that his name was Ron Evans and he was 32 ( in 1948 ) but my own DNA test and DNA matches is pointing to Ron Eames who would have been 40. When he found out my Mum was pregnant with me he disappeared.
I assume he was emigrating alone.

Hi Just wondered if you know when he arrived in New Zealand could it have been after Feb 1948 and could he have been a baker?

Hello markay , just seen your post ( thank you ) . His arrival would have been after Sept 1948 and possibly a lot later maybe even early 1950's. He was a baker for sure. His wife may have been named Kathy ( new information ) and they didn't have children.
Any further information would be appreciated. Happy New year.
