Doing research on William Bennie, born December 17,1849 , Newcastle-on-tyne, England. The first of 6 children born to Thomas and Mary ( Biggs) Bennie. He was raised in New Castle, worked in a coal mine. He migrated to America in 1870, landing in New York and immediately went to Greencastle Ind. where he worked as a stone cutter. In August of 1870 he came to Elletsville, Monroe Co. Ind. October 27,1871 he married Wilmina Schultz a native of Prussia. They had 7 children before they moved to Texas, Thomas William, Charles and Freddy (twins), Mary Jane, Emery, Albert George, and William Gusta. Freddy died at birth. They had Henry , Alice John and Minnie after arriving in Texas... Will appreciate any info ..
