I realise this is an old post but I've been searching for my own family history and stumbled across this site. My great grandfather was Horace Edwin Downes. His son Cecil Rupert Downes is my grandfather and I only just spoke to him tonight. He's 91, turning 92 this year. They we're pineapple farmers in Palmwoods in Queensland, Australia. I don't have much more info about Horace, is love to hear about my great aunts and uncles if anyone has anymore details. Cheers, Felicity
