I am researching the surname Duck. William Charles Duck born c 1835 in Bath Wiltshire. Father Henry. Family papers indicate William was born to Henry Duck who emigrated to Auckland New Zealand with his family leaving William to be brought up by his Grandmother. Papers have indicated that Henry's family were farmers and one of them was a Post Master.

Sorry I can't help Helen. My family of Ducks migrated to Sydney Australia about 1849 on the ship Agincourt. They originated in Radford Nottingham and were lacemakers. They possibly have a common ancestor but some distance removed.
