Duncan of Foxhill Wakefield Nelson New Zealand

John Duncan married Elizabeth Smith at Foxhill, Nelson, New Zealand in 1863. John was a carpenter at the time of his marriage. Had a son James Duncan in 1865. He married Amelia Kinzett on 7 Nov 1889 at Wakefield, Nelson, New Zealand. James was born at Foxhill & was a Labourer. I am have trouble finding any information on John & Elizabeth. I would like to trace their parents, whether they were born in New Zealand & where their families originated. Thanks.
