Edward Phillips Came from Devon England Possibly

Looking for a Edward Phillips born 9 Sept 1788 in England possibly. He came to America around 1806- 1808. He fought in the war of 1812. he died in 4-9-1859 in Rutland, New York. If anyone knowa any information more about him please contact me. He was in Connecticut for a short time before coming to New York.
