Edward TREASURE married Ann PERKINS, Stoke Lane, Somerset, England

Journal by artyfartyvee

WHO WERE THE PARENTS OF EDWARD TREASURE? (Brother of our Levi TREASURE bap. 8 Oct 1771 Stoke Lane)

The Facts

1. An Edward TREASURE was buried 23 Oct 1845 at Stoke Lane, was noted as being 75 years old, therefore suggesting he was born c. 1770.

2. An Edward TREASURE was implicated in the 1819 crime of Levi TREASURE and named therein as his brother. Edward's son James TREASURE was also implicated.

The Candidates

1. An Edward TREASURE was baptised 25 Mar 1764 at Downhead to John TREASURE and Ann (nee STEEDS).

Verdict: Unlikely to be our Edward.

2. An Edward TREASURE married Ann PERKINS 12 April 1803 in Stoke Lane. They baptised James TREASURE 11 May 1807 Stoke Lane. An Edward TREASURE (with a son James) named as brother of Levi TREASURE. Baptism not found. The Stoke Lane Parish Registers are in very poor condition and the years in question are very patchy and in most cases unreadable.

Verdict: Most Likely to be our Edward, brother of Levi, and therefore son of James TREASURE.
