Elmer of Great Ashfield Suffolk England C1769

Hi All.
Like most among us I'm sure, I've been researching my genealogy for decades, but mostly in fits and starts.
I usually get invigorated to back into it following a family event, or a chance contact online by someone also chasing a branch of my (or an associated) family tree.
In between I've had long periods when a too busy life due to work, kids, painting or moving house, and for some years from moving across the world, where very little research got done, and what little effort I did put in didn't take me anywhere much.
In recent years all of the above have conspired to leave me no head space to get back into my searches, despite a wealth of ephemera and facts that my eldest sister dug up from her spending many days at the Records Office in Kew, London while she lived back in England.
She was ostensibly researching our Mother's family tree branch (Rebetzke, a name from now in the region of Eastern Poland, but successively over many generations having been part of Russia and or Germany since geographically it's sandwiched between those two nations.
I think to help her focus and maybe to ease her own research frustrations she often went looking for our Elmer ancestors, sort of on my behalf as we had agreed years before she'd undertake our Mum's side and I'd do likewise for our Dad's line. She managed to find much information and printed off reams of it which she regularly posted to me over 1-2 years.
I'm disappointed in myself to write this but much of it I have never looked at in any depth, or found out where it fits into what I know to date. I have made a New Years promise that I will do so this year.
Cheers, Les Elmer
