Ernest Roden Grinlinton was born 24th August 1873 in (possibly) Yorkshire England

He was a son of William Nassau Grinlinton of Mountmellick, County Laois, Ireland and Jane Maguire Lingard of Warrington, Lancashire

He arrived as an infant with his parents and siblings on the WINCHESTER in 1874
He was a Cabinet-maker and Undertaker, Vogel Street,
Woodville, establishing his business in 1809

He was married to Elspeth Palmer (1877-1958)
