Farris - Near Drowning Chesapeake Bay 1948, USA

Journal by Jules68

I am looking for descendents of Mr and Mrs George Farris of Norfolk, Virginia. Mrs Farris was saved from drowning in 1948 by an Australian seaman of the name Elwyn Hepple. Elwyn's granddaughter is looking for relatives of the lady in question particularly any children of Mrs Farris. There was also another lady involved and her name was Mrs William Wallace perhaps remarrying later in life and becoming Mrs Lawrence.

Elwyn Hepple died as a result of his heroic efforts and a monument was erected in his honour at a cemetery in Norfolk Virginia. This was organised by the Civitan Society.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
