I can trace this branch of my family tree to James Fernley, (1813-1881) to Stockport, Cheshire, England. He was born in Ludworth, Derbyshire England according to the many census schedules available. I haven't yet been able to find out who his parents are. If you're related, please contact me.

Hi, I am also a Fernley researcher, connected with the Fernleys of the Ludworth/Mellor area via Stockport and Oldham. I have 30 James Fernley's (or variants) in my list from that area, two of them born 1813, although I have not yet established a connection between them and my line.
The family of one was at 18,Union St in 1881, whilst the other was born on 15 Mar 1813 possibly at Lane Ends. The two may be the same person.
