fIND OUT WHY THERE ARE 6 OTHER PEOPLE IN MY G\FATHERS GRAVE
My G\Father Francis Burdett Hackett is buried in Becketts St Cemetary in lEEDS YORKSHIRE hOWEVER OTHER PEOPLE ARE LISTED ON HIS HEAD STONE Enest Struth,JamesHowdon, Emma Dixon,keith Alexander Pitkin, Robert?, Keith Nickson MY G/Father died in 1938,as did some on the head stone,was this a common practise,can any help, I am Baffled.

check out the names of the other people who are buried inthe grave they could be friends or family realtives my own father had my grand mother and my mother and her sister in the same plot back in the 40- or 50s they had family plotswhich were 12 feet deep instead of 6feet as per recently

These days you have to tell the funeral director how many you want buried on the site before the first burial. These days it is a maximum of three.(Australia) In the past when graveyards were small sometimes attached to the church or small town cemeteries I don't think there was any restriction. But there would have been a limit or a bloody big hole.

See that, 2 have a different plot number. In the photo of the cemetery, it appears to now be a lawn cemetery maybe all the plots or rows were gathered together. It's opened to the public. I suppose the council has it staffed by volunteers. Why don't you send an email and ask them.
