Finley Family from Scotland and Ireland

Alexander FINLEY was b. 1667 in FIfe Scotland. When he was 7 yrs old
his mother died and he was sent to Ireland to live with his Uncle
John Finley [woolen and linen merchant]. He m. Margaret JENNINGS on
10 Jan 1688 in Dublin Ireland. He became a linen and woolen merchant
also. He d. 28 Jan 1736 Dublin Ireland. They had 7 children.
Alexander, Catherine,William,Margaret,Samuel,John and James.
They were all christened at St Peters church in Dublin Ireland.
James, Samuel and John along with their wives and family came to
Newcastle Delaware 22 May 1720 on ship Eagle Wing.A second cousin,James, along with his wife and family also was on the same
ship. The FINLEY family originally settled in Westmoreland Co. PA
and then dispursed to other parts of the US. Some of them stayed in
PA and others went to Wythe Co. VA. also known as Augusta Co.
