George Clarke 1798 1820
edmondsallan - hello , having watched the Rugby test & the A/B's won against England , I feel I need to expand my Knowledge on our " Family Tree ". ( You are welcome to join me if you want to ) I selected this person by my usual infalliable selection method = ( drop the holding file on the floor . last to be picked up is selected . )When I was doing a lot of research in my earlier days , this " fella " no !!! " Bro ? ?? " No -- " Gentleman " yes, thats suitable ,seem to stir me up a bit / Ok we are on our way -
" George Clarke " ( spelt with an ( E ) Is related to us by his descendants , marrying into the " Edmonds Family Tree " this
" Gentleman " ( and remember in those days that phrase / name , was an unoffical title ) Usually it donated . a man / family of some
distinction . Some of us may have to shed the "Bushman's Singlet" ,have a wash , pull the pot in , put on a clean shirt -- to follow or go along this 'blong fella 'in his " Kerikeri " walk about. He was a _ Missionary -- Teacher -- Public Servant - Politician -- Judge . Whats more , even though he was a " cussie " he gave us the rapping quite a few times as a judge -- especially about Land and our " Borrowing " habits which was part of our culture . Might cut this fellow down a bit now we have got him among us . Instead of " Sir Clarke " call him just " george " with no capital ( G ) !!!. Why , you may well ask =
" george " backed up the governor -- George Grey - took 3,820 acres of " John Samuel Edmonds "my ( GG Grandfather ) plus about another 120,000 acres off our Maori ancesters - going the other way to assist " Grey " and his other friends . " ( cool it man !! ) get on with the journal !! "
