George D Morton B 1810 Anson County North Carolina Died 1891 Grayson County Texas

George D. Morton married Mary Jane Carpenter 1858 in North Carolina. Mary Jane b. 1834 and died 1921. They had 9 children: William David, Hampton B., Flora, James Richard, Susan Morton, Thomas, Harve M., Gilford William, and Robert Alan "Bob" Morton. Thomas and Harve are twins.

I have not been able to locate the parents of George D. Morton. I have hit a brick wall. I am wondering if the birth date is incorrect. His headstone states 1810 but the two censuses for 1860 and 1880 don't match up to that birth date.

Any assistance/information would be appreciated.
