Welcome to familytreecircles StrathbogieBee.

You need to include given names and a time frame to work with and any other details about the two GIBBS that will assist with record searches. A good starting point would be to include a birth or death for one of them.

Cheers.

FATAL TRAM ACCIDENT.
DEATH OF MAJOR R. H. GIBBS.
Major R. H. Gibbs, surgeon-general of McLeod Military Hospital, who some years ago practised at Sale, died with tragic suddenness on Sun- day morning as the result of injuries received through a tram accident on Saturday night. Early on Saturday night, according to police information, Major Gibbs boarded a cable tram in Swanston street, with the intention of going to Malvern. He was standing on the back platform of the car, and as the tram swung round the curve at St. Kilda and Domain roads, he lost his hold and fell, striking his head on the roadway. He was taken to the Base Hospital in a passing motor car, and it was found that his skull was frac- tured. Late in the night the officer was taken to Caulfield Military Hos- pital, where he was operated on, but he succumbed to his injuries about 4 a.m. on Sunday. Major Gibbs had been at McLeod Hospital for eighteen months. For- merly he had practised at Colac. He was a son of the late Mr. Richard Gibbs, barrister-at-law, and Mrs. Gibbs, of Seymour-road, Malvern. Two sons have served at the front. A brother is Dr. K. H. Gibbs
