Goldsmiths of Long Island

I am not sure of dates but, I do know the Goldsmits were here very early.I also know that there were many and they used the same first names-which made research extremely difficult! I have been searching for a Ruby Goldsmith. She married Richard Miller Wood abt 1830 or so.I have been unable to find their places of birth or their family history. Henry Kirkand Wood was one of their children, and he was my gr-grandfather.
