Gordon S of Plattsburg New York

I would appreciate some help, as I have been trying to find more information on my great grandfather.
His name was George Alexander Gordon. All I know is that he was born in Maskinange, Quebec, Canada
around 11/6/1812. He most have gone to Plattsburg NY and married to Matilda Bryon. My grandfather Francis Archibald (Frank A.) Gordon as born 1863.
