Grandfather S Arrival IN New Zealand
My Mothers father was Samuel Rooker Mason. He was born in England around 1865. He met and married my Grandmother around 1913. Her name was Ada Henrietta Churchman. He was listed as a farmer in the Bay of Plenty area. He farmed in North Auckland and died in Wellsford in 1947. I cannot seem to find any detail as to how he got here. A SR Mason entered Melbourne at one stage from South Africa but if this is him not sure how he got to NZ or where and when he landed. My Grandmother came out as a domestic, was his housekeeper to start with then married him. Any help gratefully accepted.
Thanks

Thank you for this information. Details I knew but not where married or by whom. Now the only problems is determining how Grandfather got ou to New Zealand and when. The best I have come up with is the idea he might have strolled across when the tide was out. Along with that there is the possibility of ships via South Africa, Melbourne and then on to New Zealand probably via Newcastle or Melbourne.
