Hand Family

My sister in law in Australia has carried out a family tree and found that our Hand family are in Athloane Roscommon in 1790 Thoman Hand, any relatives recognize this? My grandfather was born in 1887 in Grantham Licolnshire and died in 1954 in Clayton Manchester Lancashire.
