Hartnett IN Stamford CT

The Hartnett family is proving to be fun. My grandfather, John A. Hartnett, was a blacksmith in Springdale and lived in Belltown. Everything I have found simply lists his Place of Birth as Ireland .... no county no town. His wife, Mary McAuliffe, also was born in Ireland ... no county no town. So far I haven't found any records showing where they immigrated. Thought maybe they'd be with their parents. Do you know how many Patrick Hartnett and how many Patrick McAuliffe there are?????????? Any help would be appreciated.
