Mr. William Evans, an old reasident of Minmi, died on Saturday at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. C. Paul, of Brown- street, West Wallsend, The funeral took place on Monday, the Interment being In the Minmi cemetery. The Rev, A. R. c Vittie was the officiatlng minister, and the pall-bearers were Messrs. R, McBlane, W. Ward, G. Lang and T. Broxam. The chief mourners were Messrs. Thomas, Wil- liam, Alexander and David Evans (sons), and Mesdames J. Kennedy, J, Mowett, C. Paul, and T. Prltchard (daughters), The late Mr. Evans, who was 70 years of age, was born in Glamorganshire, South Wales, in the year 1849, He arrived in Lambton in the year 1870, and had been a resi- dent of Mlnmi for the past 25 years, and was a miner. He leaves four sons and four daughters, his wife having predeceased him 27 years, Deceased was one of the oldest members of the Rose? of Australia, Grand United Order of Oddfellows Lodge, and also a prominent member of the Black Creek and Duckenleld Miners' Lodge. The colliery, worked the dinner hour on Monday, and knocked off early to permit of his fellow- workmen attending the funeral. The fam- ily were the recipients of numerous ex- pressions of sympathy. PLATTSBURG Mr. Treharne Evans, of Robert-street, Plattsburg, died yesterday morning, after a severe illness of several weeks, the cause of death being hemorrhage of the brain, The deceased was born in South Wales, and at the time of hIs death was 56 years of age, He came to Lambton some 28 years ago, and whilst a resident of that municiplity, took an active part in all pubtli matters, having held the positon of returning officer for the Wara- tah eloctorate prior to its amalgamation with Wallsend. He also held the position of secretary of the Lambton Co-operative Society for 17 years, Col-sergt. of the Lambton volunteers for 21 years, and was secretary of the Lambton Miners' Lodge. During the past 10 years Mr. Evans was a resident of Plattsburg, where, in con- junction wIth his son, Mr. Richard Evans, he carried on the business of coach builders and furniture salesmen. He leaves a widow, one son, and three daugh- ters, and a large circle of frIends to mourn his loss. I have information of William Evans who married Margaret Morgan only no marriage date they had eight children one daughter Sarah Evans (my Grandmother)married Thomas Pritchard. Was looking for the Margaret b.1850 Morgan and William Evans 1849 some information that his father may have been Thomas he had three siblings Trehearne buried at Sandgate Cemetery, Hannah and Esther. The Thomas Evans had a son Abiathar Evans as may have been married twice. I have William Evans and Margaret's children Charlotte ?,Margaret?,Elizabeth 1881, Thomas 2/2/1883, William Morgan 1884,Alexander 1886, David 1888,and Sarah Jane 14/9/1890 - 2/2/1959 any information will be much appreciated
