Hays Family from Donegal Ireland to Virginia USA IN the 1720 S
I have printed out the Chalkley's Augusta County Records for Virginia. It lists John Hays and Rebecca coming to Virginia in 1737 along with their children, Jane, Robert, Charles, Andrew, Barbara, Joan and a nephew or grandson, Robert from Scotland to Philadelphia. They eventually settled in Augusta County, VA with land grants. My GG grandfather, William Thomas Hays is listed in this report as a decendant to this family. William Thomas was born in 1848 in Monroe County Ohio. It lists his parents as James Hays and Susanna Williams. In this printing of the Augusta County Records, it has after William Thomas' listing (John1, David2, Moses3 and James4) I am assuming that this is clues to his lineage. I have tried several times to do this tree and it gets very confusing, as anyone who has read this report knows. HUGE family. Anyhow, I am very humbly asking for assistance or guidance to help me complete this line. Thank you in advance.

CITING THIS RECORD
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, "International Genealogical Index (IGI)," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:1:M73N-Y6N : accessed 6 January 2019), entry for Thomas Hays; submitted by dsweet1132454 [identity withheld for privacy]; no source information is available.
According to Chalkleys, his parents are James N.Hays born in 1805 in Virginia and Susanna Williams born in 1815 in Pennsylvania. William Thomas Hays was born in 1848 in Monroe county Ohio. Parental info is listed in William Thomas Hays’ small biography in Chalkleys document. William T also fought in the civil war. I’m pretty comfortable with those being his parents. I’m having problems going further back.
