In 1852 A John Arnold a butcher from northern england immigrated to Bendigo , australia . 10 years later he married Maria Healing , a professional cook from Dover , england . John Arnold after a failed search for Gold Joined the Nz constabulary as a butcher in Cambridge Nz . eventually he was allotted a land grant of 50 acres. He then brought Maria ( his wife ) to Cambridge . + reared his family
