Gippsland Times, Mon 1 Apr 1935

Mr. James Brown Hedrick, a very old resident of the Omeo and Benambra districts, passed away at the Omeo Hospital, on March 26. The deceased gentleman, who was 65 years of age, is survived by his wife and a family of two daughters and six sons. The interment took place at the Benambra cemetery, the service at the graveside being conducted by
the Rev. Mitchell, of Omeo.

His occupation is listed as a Miner in years 1912, 1916, 1917 and 1922 in the Electoral Rolls (Victoria, Gippsland, Omeo).

There is a genealogy posted at Rootsweb which states this information:

Name: James Brown HEDRICK
Birth: 1870 in Geelong, Vic
Death: 1935 in Omeo, Vic
His parents are:
Father: John HEDRICK
Mother: Agnes BRYDON b: ABT 1831

Furthermore, the Australia Birth Index at Ancestry gives this information:

Name: James Brown Hedrick
Birth Date: Abt 1868
Birth Place: Victoria, Victoria
Registration Year: 1868
Registration Place: Victoria, Australia
Father: John Hedrick
Mother: Agnes Brydon
Registration Number: 2850

There also is a small genealogy of James at familysearch.org in the "genealogies" section.

There is a probate index at familysearch which might be of help for locating further information. That index gives a death date of 28 March 1935 for a James B. Hendrick, a farmer, Cassilis. Not sure if that is your James Brown Hendrick or not.
