Hello Ngaire, John Hume Fortune was born in Lower Hutt, Wellington on the 9th October 1865. He was the son of Isaac Fortune and Mary Hume. He married on 18th July 1889 in Palmerston North, Annie Alice Peck, daughter of Charles Peck and Annie Gaskin. I have this information from the marriage certificate of JHF and AAP.
One of their children (of JHF and AAP) was Mary Elizabeth Fortune, born 20/5/1890 in Stoney Creek, near Palmerston North. She married in 1911 Charles Francis Weller, who was born in 1881 in Balmain, Australia. One of their sons, Ronald George Weller, was born 10/10/1920, who married Jean Isabella Campbell. One of their daughters was Rondelle Mary Weller, born 14/1/1961 in Auckland, who married 26/4/1985, in Auckland, Geoffrey Stuart Taylor, who is connected to my family.
