Henry Garrard married Mary Mortimer in 1831 London. They came to Australia in 1838 and settled in Lismore N.S.W. I have a load of information on this family to share.
I am a direct descendant of Henry and Mary Mortimer Garrard and would appreciate any information on the family. My grandfather Leo Vincent Garrard (killed in action in PNG during WW2)was the son of Henry Mortimer Garrard and Mary Catherine Garrard.
Hello Michael and all who read this, I have the book by Meg Timbrell of Lismore (is she still around?) and am interested in the origins of the family (particularly Mortimer) -my research says earliest known ancestor was Mark Mortimer of Bowe, Devon, but links could go much further back - to Earls of March perhaps? Anyone with a Mortimer surname registered with FamilyTree DNA? - as for Garrards, they are still jewellers to the Crown I believe. Email me if possible please.
