I am descended from William Hobson, born in 1784 in Benburb, Tyrone, Ireland. He married Alice Murphy who was born in 1801. By 1830 the family had emigrated to Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. Their children are listed as: Jonathan, William, Morris, Thomas, Sarah, Jane, Christopher, Margaret, and Benjamin. William (Sr.) died in 1859. In 1851 his occupation is listed as being a Mover.
