Hongi Hika 1772 1828 Ngapuhi
edmondsallan- hello - I am still rumbling thro my grandad's ancestral works . He seems to have had a passion for Maori leaders .I wonder if he thought we had a weakness their in our hand ons . Perhaps it could of been that he was out their, in the native virgin land, working among many of these Tribes . I don't know. This great chief " Hone Heke ". So much has been written about him , do we need any more ? I keep shoving these two or three pages aside on this great chief , but back it comes again in to my working papers . Hard to stop --- Just like when he was alive !!! Better give him his way I suppose or his spirit may take me apart . Ok here we go.
" Hongi Hika " was born near Kaikohe . I think it was in 1772. He was the third son of " Te Hotete & second wife -Tuhikura " He was a descendant from nine generations starting from " Rahiri "
" Edmonds "are related to by marriage. " Hongi Hika " died at Whangaroa on the 3rd March 1828 .I have just picked up his Whakapapa . Gosh this fella does want his own way !!! how did that happen . Ok I am printing it right now !
" RAHIRI "

This whakapapa may ease his spirit . I am sure he knows how much has been written about him. I reckon I am out of here just in case he starts wanting me to write more . Till we meet again -Regards- edmondsallan
