Emma married Charles George Gale 3.1.1905 Charles born 27.12.1877 in Reading. In both English and Australian navies
Emma died in Canberra, Australia 24.6.1957. Charles 16.7.1963 also in Canberra.
Different members of the family have tried to trace back with absolutely no luck. Really hoping someone can throw some light on to them. Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Lyn

From asheppard post

Possible birth for Emma a copy should give her parents name.

Births Sep 1873
Gibbs Emma Wellington, Somerset. 3Q 5c 363

Wellington was the registration district for Wiveliscombe so I agree this is a good possibility.

You and asheppard are THE BEST Thank you so much. We've struggled with this for years but now think that grandmother of mine told porkies about her age. We always took the date as gospel because it came from her daughter and she had no reason to doubt it. We haven't had certificates for either of the grandparents but about to go on to the UK site now to see what I can find. Going to see what I can get on my grandfather also - no idea about his mother either. Thanks again on behalf of a very pleased family.
