I'm not related Polly. I hadn't heard of John Oswald Finn till you asked, but I have read about his grandfather Denis Finn an errand boy who was only 11 when he was sentenced and 12 when transported for 7 years for stealing a cloak. His father was sentenced for the same crime. They were transported on the convict ship 'St.Vincent' on the 5 January 1837 from Cork. Denis died in Newtown about 1888.
