Thanks Harry for taking the time and making the effort to respond. Yes I believe you are correct and I would like info on the 10 children and any thing else you might have if that is possible.

If this is the James Paul Chapman brother of Thomas Daniel Chapman - whom incidently has a striking resemblance to my father Thorburn Neville Chapman, his uncles were Sir John Chapman born 1773 one time mayor of Wihdsor and surgeon to Windsor Castle - knighted for his services to King George 111 or 1V and owner of Great Fosters Asylum and Thomas Chapman also surgeon Bedfordshire. The chronological order of birth for James 's father and uncles were Thomas b1771, Sir John b1773 and William b 1775 or 1778 ? although this would indicate James's father was in his late thirties early forties when he was born or thereabouts.

I don't know if this helps but all I can work out / summise is is that the Chapmans were early settlers of SA and Tasmania and SayBrook New England - USA - a Robert Chapman associated with Stone Castle Kent and the Carew family.
