I don't have a birth certificate...but her parents are listed as Jane Ingram (nee Mc Donnell) and Thomas Martin Ingram on her marriage cert.

Eliza was born on 13 January 1866. Parents Jane Ann and Thomas Martin Ingram. Jane and Thomas married in St Pauls Church, Dunedin 28 June 1864. Otago Daily Times 4 July 1864 reports Thomas to be the second son of Mr. J. W. Ingram, watchmaker, Hayle, Cornwall, England, and Jane as the eldest daughter of Mr. John McDonald, House Factor, Oakley, Dunfermline; Fifeshire, Scotland. BDMNZ online records her maiden name as McDonald.

Siblings of Eliza: Isabella Elizabeth Ingram b.1870, Thomas Henry Ingram b.1872, Archibald Christopher Ingram b.1873

Thomas Martin Ingram death notice published in the Hokitika Guardian
28 June 1919 states he was from Hayle, Cornwall, England. Janes death notice published in the Hokitika Guardian 7 July 1925 states she was from Inverness, Scotland. It also reports her name as McDonald.

Hey ScotNZ

Thanks so much for providing this info.
I wonder when Jane and Thomas arrived in New Zealand?...I'm assuming they weren't born in New Zealand but maybe?
Perhaps with this info I can search some ship records.

Thanks again, much appreciated.

Hi Sascha,

the newspaper wedding notice and death notices all refer to Jane being born in Scotland and Thomas in England. Their respective fathers being referred to with occupations listed in the Wedding notice means they were still alive in 1864 but in their home countries.
