I Am Searching for My Tupuna My Grandfather Bill OR William Te Whata

My father name is Douglas William Te whata, who may have been borne either in Gisborne or whanganui. His father (my grandfather) was bill also known as William Te Whata who married Irene Mary Te whata nee Potaka. Until he died on 19th September 1957 in Gisborne and buried there as well.

I have a deep desire more like a calling to travel to North Auckland to fine My Tupuna but I am not sure who to contact regarding Bill or William Te whata or which line of the whakapapa I come off, All I know is that my last name is Tewhata Manu Aroha.

So can some one help me please
