My Nicholas May born about 1782 Plymouth (was a fisherman) married Jane Brown in St Andrew Plymouth on 16/02/1806. He died 1849 in Plymouth and had his first child John May in 1806 Plymouth. There is some question if Jane was called Brown or Bruen I have seen a copy of his marriage certificate but its not a good copy. I have the family from Nocholas till today but can't find his birth
Many thanks for your help.

Yesterday I had a quick look and saw Jane on a couple of Census records in the 1841 Census she was living in Lambhay St and selling fish but Nicholas was not on this census (maybe at sea)
in the 1851 census she has moved to Cooksley's Court, a widow and head of the house with daughter Ellen Lugg (widow) son John and g daughter Mary J and describes herself as a pauper/fish woman.
I'll have a serious look for him this weekend for you- and you are certain he was born in Plymouth ?
