I Am Stuck with a Cornelius Durham Who Would Have Been Born Ca1754 and Who is Known IN Family Anecdotes as Durham of Devils Bridge Family Anecdotes...
Cornelius (4) DURHAM who married Ann MORRIS in St. Brides Church, Fleet Street, London on 30 August 1836 had five children, Sophia Ann, Henry, Edmund, Cornelius Beavis and John Farr. Cornelius Beavis married Mary CUISSET in St. Marys Church, Lambeth, London on 30 August 1836. He was a well known miniature portrait painter. They had four children, Cornelius John,Edmund Cuisset, Francis Hine and Geirge William.Francis Hine married Alice DANIELSON in the Church of the Holy Trinity, Tottenham, London on 14 April 1869 and immigrated with his family to South Africa in 1870.
DURHAMS earlier than Cornelius (4) are speculative but it is probable that there was a Cornelius in each preceding generations. Cornelius (3) had 4 children ?, Sophia Augusta,William, Cornelius (4) and Martha. A Martha PALMER with whom Cornelius is staying has his relationship listed as a cousin and his occupation as an artist in the 1871 census. I cant find a Martha DURHAM marrying a PALMER so this, if the relationship is correct, could be a second marriage. A Cornelius (2) was christened in St. Andrews Church Holborn, London on 16 December 1711 and a Cornelius DURHAM married Jane TOONE under Rules of the Fleet on 21 June 1750. I can find no record of any children of this marriage but the dates are right for Cornelius (3)
Hi cordur,
Can I just point something out ..
You have written Cornelius(4) Durham married Ann Morris in St. Brides Church, Fleet Street, London on 30 Aug 1836 had five children etc
AND that Cornelius Beavis (1809-1884) married Mary CUISSET in St. Marys Church, Lambeth, London on 30 Aug 1836.
On your Family Search site you have that the father, Cornelius Durham (1775-1817) married Anne Morris (1771-1843) on 15 July 1800 in London
Perhaps you could just edit above journal
