I Am Told That My Great Great Grandmother Ann Morgan Had a Brother Pierpoint Morgan Who Went to America and Died a Millionaire She was Born IN Cavan...
Can anyone help me with this claim? I can only find reference to the famous John Pierpoint Morgan but although his birthdate of 1837 (my ancestor was born in 1840) fits, I believe he was born in Hartford Connecticut and not Cavan Ireland where my ancestor was. Help? Nigel Sherwen.
Wikipedia says J. P. Morgan "[left] his fortune and business to his son, John Pierpont 'Jack' Morgan, Jr."
And the biography of John Pierpont Morgan, Jr. says, "After his father died in 1913, Morgan inherited approximately $50 million and became the head of J. P. Morgan ..."
An internet search of his name and Dublin Ireland gives this: The World Almanac and Book of Facts Facts on File, Inc - 1906
"Born at Dublin, Ireland, 1831; m. Juliet Pierpont Morgan, b. 1870; m. 1891, William Pier- Bon Hamilton. 1. "
Hope your able to find out what those dots are replacing. They might show what you need. Doesn't look so good on the next of kin part though because that was actually his son, not some other relative.
