I Am Trying to Find Additional Information on Marshall Martin Who Married Adeline Gardner on 27 Dec 1904 IN St Landry Parish Louisiana

They were married in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish Louisiana. They had one son named Leo Martin that died in 1943. It looks like they resided at one point in Washington, Louisiana. Adeline was born in 1887 and passed away in 1958.
Family lore says Marshall just disappeared one day. Others say he had another family. I can't find anything to substantiate either. Adeline went on to have kids with Joseph Nash of Washington, Louisiana.
I'd appreciate anything you could help find on Marshall's early life, parents, what happened to him, etc.
