I have tried unsuccessfully to find any accurate details for William's birth or where he came from
His death notice cited he came from Penrith

Philip Colin Threlkeld was my Great-Grandfather. His father was Rev. Philip Threlkeld, born 1799, in Great Salkeld, Milburn, England. He married Ann Potter and died 1842 at Milburn, Westmoreland, England.His father was also a Rev.Philip Threlkeld b 1763, he was also born Great Salkeld, Westmorland, Eng., d 1821. He married Isabella Westmorland. b 1761?, Milburn, Westmorland, England, d may 1821. The Threlkelds apparently owned a castle in Penrith but lost it in the "War of the Roses" because they backed the wrong side.
