Matthew Jackson was a coalminer who married Elizabeth Kenyon 2 April 1820 at Duffield, Derbyshire where they had 4 children. At the time of the 1841 Census the family had moved to Oldham, Lancashire, England where 5 more children were born. Matthew died 19 June 1864 aged 72 occupation coalminer.
