Hi I'm Tracey. My Hobson's are John Hobson born abt 1824 in Yorkshire married to Mary Ann Nicholson born abt 1826 in Yorkshire. I wondered if you have any information on them or on their children, Joseph born about 1853 in Ontario Canada and Emma born about 1856 also in Ontario. I think Emma had a twin sister.
Thank you
Hi - I'm Revel (Aussie guy) now in USA.
I'm looking for the connection of Eleanor Morris Hobson, who married my great uncle, Henry Edward Shortt, in 1921, in Calcutta, Bengal, India. I'm mainly doing the Shortt history, but this will help :-)
Thanks in anticipation !! (her dad's name was William Hobson).
Cheers and beers, mate....Revel. (my email... kemply1@yahoo.com)
Hi, My Name is Mary Hobson. I have been searching my Hobson side for quite some time. I did have the aid of a book that was compiled by my Grandmother and Great Uncle. She was a Pfeifer that married a Hobson. She worked on this book before computers, you would not believe the dates and story's I have in this book. She also sat me down when I was 13 years old and gave me names and dates on the Pfeifer side back to my GGG Grandfather in Germany. Her memory was amazing. I have verified every thing she has told me with the computer age. :)
My question lies here. It took a lot of digging trying to find my Great Grandfather Harry, but I did. I have found that his father was Henry Hobson born abt. 1914 in Ohio. I think his father was Charles Hobson born abt. 1882 in Ireland, not sure. Due to the moving around alot I can't seem to find much more. Also it seems that there are 2 children Forrest and Howard that would have been my Great Grandfathers children, they were left with family. My G Grandpa Harry left Mich. and moved west he met my Great Grandma Anna Marquis. She had children from a prior marriage and they had a few of their own. Hence my Grandfather Marion Edward. Do you have any information on my Further great grand dads or any stories you have come across explaining why he left the 2 boys behind? I remember Uncle Forrest and Uncle Howard visiting my Grandparents home. They were my Grandpa's half brothers. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Mary Hobson

Hello My name is Alexandra Hobson. I know that the surname Hobson is english, but my family is african american. The only conclusion i could come to it that perhaps the Hobson's were slaveowners, and my family took the last name Hobson? I was wondering if you have any slave records? Ive been having trouble looking up my ancestry... but i think it would help alot if you did have any record of this. Thanks!
And I mean no offense by my previous post...I'm not sure if people would take offense to that or not....
